Switching power supply load capacity test
There are two parts to be tested:
1. The power supply works stably, only the load jumps from no-load to full load, and the output voltage is stable
2. The module is started with output capacitor and the output voltage is stable
When the switching power supply meets the above two requirements, the maximum capacitive load it can carry is the capacitive load capacity of the switching power supply.
Generally, the power supply can carry a fairly capacitive load, but considering the overcurrent protection capacity of the power supply, especially the output short-circuit protection, the capacitive load capacity cannot be too large, otherwise the protection capacity will become worse. For the capacitive load carried by the multi-channel output module, the distribution principle is that the total stored energy of the capacitor shall not exceed 0.25j.
The general maximum capacitive load is selected as follows:
Output voltage | maximum capacitive load capacity | energy storage
5V || 20000 μ F || 0.25J
12V || 3300 μ F || 0.25J
15V || 2200 μ F || 0.25J
24V || 800 μ F || 0.25J
48V || 220 μ F || 0.25J
